I don't know much about artists where you're from, but it'll be awkward going into a shop and saying "make my scars into a design, please." You should have a general design in mind that incorporates your current scars.
Keep the design simple, if you're going for a brand. scalpelling is better for more detailed designs. Do you have any ideas in mind? |

I have no ideas in mind at the moment, im really just trying to find out if there is anyone near me that would be able to help me. my scars are pretty much straight accross so its gonna be hard trying to do someting with them.
Ive had a few tattoos over some of them and it is quite sore due to the scars being softer than the rest of the skin.
Im just a bit confused as to what would be the best thing to do to them, im due my first baby in april and i dont want to have to explain why i hurt myself. i know it flunking out but it much rather say why i have something else there instead if you know what i mean.
thanks for your help :)

I saw someone who changed five or six straight line scars into butterflies / craneflies or something like that. Looked good. I think you would need to see someone who was not only clued up on scarification but also with a good artistic eye - so they could bring ideas to the table depending on what you've got so far.
Personally I think the medical profession is a lot more accepting and (more recently) understanding of 'self-harm' than it is of body modification by scalpel / branding. Anyhow, you shouldn't have to explain 'why' to anyone. The alternative is to reduce the current scarring - the best remedy for that is good internal health and time - people waste a fortune on 'scar reduction creams' that don't work. If they are really noticeable or abnormal a GP could refer you for scar revision by a surgeon but this isn't always as beneficial as patients would like. Whatever you go for, hope you like the result. |

If in your area scarification is legal due some google researching to find some people, if no luck call tattoo/piercing shops and do what I did at first "Hi, do you guys do scarification? Oh, ok thanks."
