a procedure this dangerous can have disasterous results, even performed by a licensed surgeon. your skull serves a purpose, and putting holes in it weakens it. direct impact in a head-on manner would cause it to penetrate deep or at least strip the threads, requiring removal of the jewelry or "screw." if it were to be hit in an indirect collision there is a possiblity of breaking off chunks of your skull. i'm pretty sure you can see the dangers of having sharp skull fragments held in place by your skin against your brain. oh, and an infection in your skull? doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun.

i dont have any numbers but i know for fact that having something done by a surgeon in a clinic or a hospital doesnt garantee you wont have an infection

also i dont think your skull would ever fuse with any material you would implant or screw in it.

if you hear about someone getting it done, keep us updated, I'm sure plenty of people here would be curious to see how the healing goes

elective surgery, experimental elective surgery at that, is fraught with danger. unless you are a lab rat i don't think being one of the first for any surgery is altogether a great idea. hell, i feel sorry for the lab rats, you know how many of them die?

any surgeon willing to do something so radical for aesthetics alone would worry me, and I am a gal who uses off label artefill and botox... so i am no stranger to surgeons doing "new" things, but not when it involves my skull.

my two cents, and they ain't worth that much truthfully. ;)
i'm always right, except for, ya know, when i'm wrong
